DESCRIPTION:Rail Car Incident Response for Crude\, Ethanol\, and Other Flammable Liquids\n January 24\n @\n8:00 am\n –\n5:00 pm\n Fort Walton Beach\, Florida \nFREE\nThe All Hazards Training Center at The University of Findlay has developed the Rail Car Incident Response for Crude\, Ethanol\, and Other Flammable Liquids training course for the U.S. Department of Transportation Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (DOT PHMSA) to educate emergency responders on freight rail car incidents involving hazardous materials\, specifically crude oil\, ethanol\, and other flammable liquids. As more and more rail traffic transports cargo\, including hazardous materials\, it is important that the responder community become educated about the dangers and unique hazards presented with rail cars carrying these commodities. SUMMARY:G-557 Rapid Needs Assessment
DESCRIPTION:This is an 8 hour course. The ability to perform a rapid assessment accurately and within the first few hours after an incident is critical to providing response for life threatening and imminent hazards. Coordinated and timely assessments permit local government to prioritize response activities\, allocate scarce resources and request mutual aid and State & Federal assistance. Classroom activities\, facilitated exercises and instructor lead group discussion are utilized in this course to provide participants with the skills to perform assessment. Communities can use the Resource Guide and Facilitator’s Guide when developing the plan and procedures for rapidly and efficiently collecting disaster intelligence immediately following a disaster. This intelligence is used to prioritize response activities\, allocate available resources\, and specifically request resources from other sources to save and sustain lives. Update October 2019

SUMMARY:Critical Infrastructure Risk Management: Haystax Training
DESCRIPTION:Critical Infrastructure Risk Management: Haystax Training\nMarch 6\n–\nMarch 7\nPensacola\, FL \nFREE\nThe Florida Fusion Center invites law enforcement\, emergency management\, fire\, and public health partners to attend a training program on Haystax\, which the Florida Department of Law Enforcement is rolling out statewide for critical infrastructure risk management. \nPer Florida Statute 943.0311\, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) is required to coordinate ongoing vulnerability assessments on critical infrastructure (CI) and to make an annual report concerning that information to the Governor\, President of the Senate\, and Speaker of the House of Representatives. As of 2024 each of the seven Regional Domestic Security Task Forces (RDSTF) reportedly have no single point of information or comprehensive database to generate reports concerning any of the 16 critical infrastructure sectors or 54 subsectors. In the event law enforcement becomes aware of any intelligence indicating a specific threat to a CI sector\, the time it would take to request\, gather\, and compile a report to facilitate next steps towards prevention could be catastrophic. In an effort to rollout this database\, FDLE will be providing training to the Fusion Center Network and their stake holders such as Emergency Management\, Law Enforcement and Fire/Hazmat. \nThe training will run a full day from 0900-1700 on Thursday 3/6 through 0900-1200 (half day) on Friday 3/7. \nParking \nThe meeting will be held at the Pensacola Regional Operations Center\, located at 5045 Commerce Park Circle\, Pensacola\, FL 32505. \n  \nRSVP \nPlease utilize this updated link: https://fdle.readyop.com/fs/4e5w/6099cd55 to register by Monday\, February 24th. \n*ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST RSVP AS THERE IS A LIMIT OF 50 SEATS FIRST COME FIRST SERVE* \n\nRESERVE YOUR SPOT\n \nPlease feel free to share this invitation with any emergency management\, law enforcement and fire/hazmat personnel who would benefit from attending and if you have any questions\, contact Chelsie Hayles at ChelsieHayles@fdle.state.fl.us \n \nPLAN.
